Why Is Today Wonderful?

Let me count the ways...

1) Grandma took the kids yesterday so hubby and I could have some time to ourselves.

2) We did our weekly grocery shopping in TEN minutes.*

3) The sky is a gorgeous blue, so beautiful that you can hardly tear your eyes away from it.

4) As mom dropped off the kids today, she told me I was looking THINNER!**

* Yes, that is no exaggeration. We RAN through the grocery ten minutes before closing and bought $108 in groceries. I won't have to go back for another week. IT WAS AMAZING!

** This from the same woman who when I was 5 months pregnant and retaining water like a camel, wanted to know what happened to me? "Honey, you used to be so slim and trim." HELLO! Pregnant!!! So, she's a tough sell on the "thin" look. Made me feel great! (In a sad, I-can't-believe-I-don't-need-therapy kind of a way).

How in the heck did you only spend $108? It must be a good day indeed. I'm about to blog about how much I just spent at the grocery store.

haha

Only $108 because the week before was $500. We went to Sam's Warehouse Club and one other store that week. $500 in two hours. It made me a feel a bit ill.

Oh, and I'm trying to eat stuff out of the freezer. :)

Oh, and this was a generic food store. For example, generic Oreos are $1.20. I LOVE THIS STORE! :) So, the bill would have been a lot more at a different store.

That makes sense. I was wondering what thrifty magic you were working. I was like, Hey her family's the same size as mine. What in the heck am I doing different? lol.

Thank you so much for your kind words for Beatrice - You are right on the money - she is gentle, loving, sweet and cuddly. She brings me sheer pleasure every day. And like I said, it doesn't matter to me if she isn't perfect. She is perfect for me.

Also, I would also like to know how you got away with only spending $108 at the grocery shop?? I can never get out of there without spending about $300. Good for you for looking thin. It is always nice when mom actually throws a complement our way.

Thanks again

Did the shopping cart wheels smoke and catch fire???

ha haaaa!!!!!

Eric,

Oh yes! We had to have fire extinguishers at the ready! It was very traumatic for the cashier... except that she was VERY pleased that we were so dedicated to getting out of the (closing) store quickly! :)

We were the only customers, so nobody was endangered during our smokin' shopping experience. :)

dmld,

Okay, I admit it. I went into Kroger Sunday night just to get a raincheck on Goldfish crackers. :) And I still managed to spend $26. I can't resist their $1 sales.

The $108 was entirely due to that store being a generic food store. We filled the cart.

It was so nice to see you post! Thanks for visiting!!! :)

I hope Beatrice is doing well! She's so adorable. I hope you post more pictures of her.

One of my fondest memories is coming home from Kindergarten one day to discover my mom had saved a pregnant basset hound from the pound. That's my soft-hearted mom! :) There is nothing cuter than enormous ears on a basset hound puppy! :) I'm thinking you think the same about Beatrice. :)

sounds like it was a good day!

Once when I was home visiting from college my stepdad said "oh, you're looking skinner" to which my mom responded very matter of factly "no she isn't!" That made me feel good.

Hi ALF!

Thanks for visiting! :) I really need to post a comment on your blog instead of just lurking. :)

You look great! I doubt you need to be thinner at all. That is your wedding picture on your site, right? It's beautiful.

:)
