Back to Reality

Shhhh! My little munchkin is sleeping on the couch. A big Golden Retriever has positioned herself on Sarah's feet (to keep them warm, I am sure... not because Peachie considers it her couch or anything like that...).

The FLU has come to town! Sarah is the first casualty.

I sure hope she feels better soon. I'm glad she's able to sleep. I just hate it when my kids get sick. I always wish I could be sick FOR them.

This reminds me of a little story about my youngest, Matt. When he was about 5, he caught the flu with the rest of us. But, he'd been watching me care for his sibs and knew just what to do.

So, he comes downstairs looking gray and wan. I worriedly say, "Oh honey! Are you sick?"

"Yes, Mom. But I took care of it."

"What?" (Remember, he is FIVE.)

"I put my blankets down the laundry chute and I rinsed out my bucket."

That's right. He felt miserable, but he wanted to CLEAN UP after himself so I wouldn't have to do it.

I just love how he surprises me with the most amazing things! And yes, I washed his blankies up right away so he'd have them for comfort asap.

I really hope that we manage to keep flu casualties to a minimum this time around.

Thank you, Beth! That means a lot.

Matt's a darling. He's seven now and still just as sweet. Seems like every time I look at him I think about what a blessing God sent us.

What a sweet boy! That would never happen at my house. "Hey Mama, I threw up in the corner... yesterday." LOL.

I hope he feels better soon.

Hey Summer!

You are so funny. :) Yesterday, indeed! I know how clean you keep your house! There is NO WAY that would happen unless YOU couldn't breathe for some reason. :)

I hope you all feel much better soon!

Speedy, you a such a MAN. I hope Matt doesn't grow into those "SICK MAN" tendencies! :)

Women NEVER complain about being sick. Never. We are soooo tough! Really. I've never heard of a woman complaining about being sick. Only men. Really.

(And now I'm ducking to avoid the flying chicken flung from MN!!!) :) (ducking... get it? haha)

I feel PAIN! OUCH! A feather pillow would have made the point, ya know.

Ouch ouch ouch!

But, hey, I'm not complaining because that's only for MEN. hahahahahaha

Tasty chicken, btw.

Oh, so sorry about the flu. West and Wewaxation! That's the ticket! Good luck getting better. Your son is cute. As soon as he has his first girlfriend he'll revert to the sick man syndrome. "I'm sick.... I want my Mommie!" He'll be stuck there until he's 85... :) If you don't believe me ask Speedy!

Tiptoeing in so as not to disturb sleeping child. *whispering*

So sorry to hear the flu bug has invaded. I hope good health returns soon and that it isn't spread throughout the whole family. Sending up a prayer and get well wishes for your little one, Chris.

Intrepidideas,
FIRST GIRLFRIEND? Okay. Trying to stop my heart palpitations... :) Really, I told him to wait until he is 21. I think that is reasonable, don't you? :)

I do have GOOD NEWS! NO one else caught the flu. Not sure how that's possible. I'm still rather holding my breath...

Hey Bibi! I'm coming over to your site asap. :) I've been neglecting my blog something terrible this week. Thanks for the prayers!!!

HI Daisy!! Thank you for the prayers too! Do you think you could send some warm weather now? :)

Awww...hope everyone is feeling better soon! And, you never know about Peachie...those Golden Retrievers are so perceptive and always seem to know when some needs some extra TLC. ;)
