It's a HEAT WAVE!

It's a balmy 8 degrees outside right now. Balmy!! It's going to get up to 10 degrees today and I just don't know how we are going to stand the heat!

I want to show you what can happen in this kind of cold...

See this? Notice anything, oh say, ODD about this key?

That's right. I put it in the lock on my front door, tried to turn it, and IT BROKE OFF IN THE LOCK! I couldn't believe it. Fortunately, I could still get in the house because it broke after I turned it once. WHEW! I would NOT have liked being trapped outside in these temps!

It's really rather neat how everyone is taking the low temps with a good attitude, though. One of my friends on Facebook was joking around about breaking out her bikini. I guess red, dripping noses, blue lips, numb toes, and shivers bring out the best in people! :) Who knew?

Yikes! It was 85 degrees here. Something is wrong with the global theremometer. So where is "Marta Farta?"

Wrapping another afghan around me and putting on another sweater right now! Yikes, it's wicked outside, isn't it? Hope you are staying warm, Chris! :)

Intrepidideas...
85 degrees? I think you need some 2 degree temps for a few days. Really. It's invigorating. Really.

Marta Farta is my old roommate. Still trying to get her to let me know if I can call her that online. WHOOPS! :) hee hee

Daisy,
I am NOT warm. I am typing just so my fingers don't freeze in one position! I am REALLY wishing I'd bought the electric blanket they had at Sam's Club before Christmas. Brrrrr! Time for another mug of hot tea! :)

I'll admit... 2 degrees is character building. Let's throw some wind into the picture too. :) I think it's going to cool down into the 60's next week. Of course it gets a lot colder at night.

SIXTY! Ha! That's swimming weather! :)

I'll admit, a bit of a WARM breeze would be most welcome this evening! I have to drive up to my parents' house at the top of a hill and the wind chill is going to be scary!

Wow - that is cold. It has been in the 50's here which doesn't quite seem like winter. At my family farm in the midwest, the wind chill was -51. Thankfully I'm not there.

-51 OH MY GOSH! I can't even imagine! That must be so dangerous!

After a few days of this bone-chilling cold, I'm ready for some weather in the PLUS 50's! :) BRRRR!
