We have here one MOSTLY brushed happy collie. Don't you love his loooong nose? What a sweet pea!
He is happy because he HATES being brushed and he was thrilled it was over. I'm ruthless with a brush.
Want to see why collies are not for the faint of heart? Just remember, this is just PART of what comes off of his coat every Spring.
Here ya go...
Kind of disgusting, isn't it? Almost looks like some small gray animal just exploded in our entry way. Trust me, you should see the YARD. Animal protection services are probably being called by nervous neighbors even as I type.

Oh. My. That's a lot of hair.
Yep. Fortunately, our other collie is a breeze to brush. I'm never seen an undercoat on a dog like Champie has! You can't even find his skin!
Goldens and "Sally Dogs" aren't for the faint of heart, either, for the same reason! I bathe them, and they clog the drain in the tub. I brush them, and could literally brush for an hour and STILL be getting loose fur. With all the fur they shed, I'm shocked they have any left that's still attached!! But...one word: Furminator!
Your collie is beautiful, Chris! That pile of hair made me laugh though--looks like a bunch of dead mice--ha!
OH MY GOSH! Daisy, you are RIGHT! DEAD MICE! I may never be able to bring myself to brush him again. :) It's not always like this. I just got his winter undercoat off of him.
HI Lauren!
I have always wanted to try one of those! Do you really recommend them? Even for a long-haired dog?
HAA!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like the pile of hair in my bathroom after shaving my backYES, it is still there on the floor. Next week I am going to tackle my ear and nasal passages. Say, that dogs nose looks like a banana
Go ahead, Champie, BITE HIM. Preferably on those white golf pants.
Speedy, maybe you should be doing that manscaping OUTSIDE. hehehe
Just saw your comment .... and it was VERY FUNNY!!!!!
[[Thanks for the birthday laugh]]
another funny - ha haaaaa!
My dog hasn't shed that much since we got her in July! Can you find your furniture? :)
Haha! :) Yes, we can find our furniture, thanks to Mr. Dyson! :) We vacuum daily. The dogs never go in the kids' rooms, so that helps.
It's only this bad once a year when he loses his undercoat. Our other collie doesn't lose anything like this. It just depends on the collie. Champie has a VERY thick coat.
If Miss B would like a box of doggie fur to spread around your home, I'd be happy to send it along. haha! :)
Speedy, you could just solve this birthday thing by telling us all the REAL DAY! :)
You could knit a new dog with that fur.
