Some Humor Right Now Would Be GOOD

I hope some of you have some commenting humor in you today because I sure need it!

I just stepped in ankle deep water in our basement. The part of the basement containing boxes and boxes of old (but new) inventory from my online business. Stuffed bears do NOT do well in water. They never learned to swim.

I immediately broke out in a cold sweat.

I told Rob.

He's on it.

Bless him.

I can't even think about all the damage.

Apparently, it's a leaking pipe.

I need some tea.

And maybe some life preservers for the bears.

UPDATE: Minimal damage, all things considered, and my dear spouse is fixing the pipe issue himself, probably saving us a couple hundred dollars. Isn't he great? :)

I've always thought it was so glamorous to have a pool inside one's house.

You're so lucky.

Was that humorous enough?

Wow! A whole new way to look at this! Thanks! :)

Yep, ya made me smile. :) I needed that.

No, that's not very funny. Those poor bears. You seem to be handling it all okay. I suppose you've considered the bear soup option? Or have you started a new fad? Stuffed Swamp Bears! Good luck with the leak and the bears. :)

I had a dream once that the stairs going down led to this GIANT pool with white everywhere. Cool dream, not so cool when you have "stuff" there.

Wishing you good luck salvaging what you have!

HI intrepidideas! I'm used to it. Bears in basements run into these issues repeatedly in 90-year-old houses. I like the swamp bears idea! :)

Hi Speedy! I would LIKE a pool in the basement! :) Sounds cool! Might even be a good place to keep MILK cool. hahaha (Yeah, I've been on Twitter).

milk?????????

haz Twitter???????

..... I am so confused!

hehe

Oh, I was just commenting on and old photo of your frig on Twitter. Five gallons of milk? Did you replace the chickens with cows? :)

I'm just kidding. I buy at least 5 gallons at a time. I buy at least 20 boxes of cereal at a time too. It's a 3 week supply, but I still can't get over it!

Ahhhhh ... make perfect sense!

I have one whole milk (for coffee)

2% for cereal

lots of skim, because I do not drink water - I hate water !!!!!!!!

Makes perfect sense to me :-)

Chris said...

I'm mean. I make everyone drink skim for everything... even cereal! We have a special cow that only gives skim. She's genetically engineered and a special small size so she can be a house cow. Housetrainable too!

OH, and I agree. Water is highly overrated. :) Unless, of course, you are stuck in a desert. Maybe then.

Crap. I was going to be all funny with the life preservers for the bears joke but you beat me to it.

Well, it's the thought that counts. :) Thanks for stopping by! I wish my blog was half as entertaining as yours. Your entry today was terrific!

Maybe you can start training your bears for the swimming event in the next summer Olympics? They'd be worth more if they are gold medal winners, right? :-)

Seriously though, I hope things are under control by now. If you have much damage, there may be a slim chance you can recoup some from your home insurance (or maybe flood insurance?) if you have the right kind of coverage.

Hope you have a great weekend, Chris! :)
