One out of 6 ain't bad

Ain't? Ain't? Yes, I said ain't. It's the result of hearing "youns" instead of "you" for the past two hours. I really don't mind, but it has this gosh darn effect on me, daggone it.

(Taking off hillbilly hat and putting on my usual one...note I did not say "normal" one. :) I hesitate to read the commentary that word would dredge up when used in affiliation with me. :) hehe)

So, I'm back from my haircut and coloring appointment. There is probably some hip word for all that, but I don't know it. Hey, I finally stopped calling the place a beauty parlor and refer to it as a salon. One step at a time, right?

I now have hair that seems to be shaped like Dolly Parton's (on a pouffy day) and colored like Sarah Palin's. Only shorter.

Ahem.

No photos will be forthcoming.

Still, one iffy haircut out of six over the past year isn't bad at all! I still love the person who does my hair... next time I'm just going to ask her to step away from the hairspray...

(She really is talented... we just had some miscues this time.)

UPDATE: Just combed out the pouf and I actually really like it now! :) I'm so pessimistic with hair. It's really soft and I LOVE the new color. I got a whiny post out of it AND I like it after all. Win-win! :) lol

HA! I said "beauty parlor" not too long ago, and one of my sons nearly fell out of his chair laughing at me. Harumph! :D I guess the hip thing to say is salon or stylist these days. Obviously, I'm not hip.

I hear you about the hair spray too. Sometimes the beauticians (or I guess I should say stylists?) get a little heavy handed with that spray!

Hi Daisy!

I'm so glad I'm not alone! ;) And that someone else has kids that LAUGH at them (all in good fun, of course). ;)

I actually ask her to use the spray. I just wouldn't have asked for the pouffy hair and SO MUCH spray. haha It all worked out. My kids LOVED my hair, so it just goes to show what I don't know! ;)

Hi Speedy!

You really can't see it b/c there is a tinfoil hat hiding it. :)

I can't vote for your post! It's too funny! ;)

Connie said...

Hi Speedy! :-) *giggle*

Chris said...

Daisy, did you vote for him? ;)

Connie said...

No, I did not! I didn't vote for DCR either. :-)

Connie said...

And I want to see pictures of the new haircuts on both of you!! :D

I'm IN

Chris said...

EEEKS!

and that is a response to the BOTH of you! ;)

Speedcat Hollydale said...

sorry .. no comprende`

Connie said...

Uh oh, I sense another blog challenge coming on here! ;)

Connie said...

Chris if you don't post a picture with your new hairdo, we may just have to use our good imaginations to make up what it looks like!! (of course you do know our good imaginations are often helped along with some photo editing software!)

HA HA HA!

In conclusion, if you want healthy shiny hair, whether you're into long layered hair styles, shorter cuts or whatever, loading up on junk foods like Cheetoes type foods isn't the way to go. Instead, those seeking sleek healthy hair eat a healthy diet. One that consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and even some oily fish.

Yes!

Photo SHOP

Connie said...

That sounded like Dr. Shoal!!!

Chris said...

Um, Thank you? Dr. Speedy? HEALTHY?

Trying to get my head around that... may take awhile. ;)

Daisy, YOU? Et tu, Brute?

hehe

Actually, my hair looks the same now that it has been de-pouffed. ;)

BUT, I am picking up my NEW GLASSES tomorrow. They are much more hip and much SMALLER. I'm nervous! Maybe I'll wear my foil hat to take the focus off of my face. :)

Connie said...

HA HA HA! Let's see, I'm sure we can find some Dolly Parton pictures somewhere on the net to um...borrow.

(Chris, you do remember the zoo picture with "someone" sitting on your lap, don't you?) :-)

Doctor Shoal said...

Did I hear a call for the Doc?

Chris said...

DAISY!

That zoo pic! HOW COULD I FORGET??????

I can hear Speedy cackling over it from HERE!

:)

There are NO Dolly pics on the net. I checked. So, no use looking.

I AM SCARED OF THAT DOC!!!

But, I wonder what his hair looks like? Does anyone really KNOW?

Doctor Shoal said...

Hello Daisy, nice to see you again. It has been some time as I was working at a clinic in the Yucatan. We did tests on hair.

Doctor Shoal said...

I have thick nice hair, better than Speedcat has I am sure

Chris said...

What kind of tests on hair?

Dare I ask?

Chris said...

Well, NOW you do. After the tests.

Doctor Shoal said...

Speaking of that looonatic Speedcat, I am going over to vote

Chris said...

I wonder who Dr. Shoal will vote for?

Connie said...

Hi Dr. Shoal! You need some new magazines in your waiting room. You need more that have recipes for bundt cake in them.

I don't know how we will be able to tell how nice your hair is when you always have it covered up with a surgical cap thingy.

Chris said...

YES! Daisy is RIGHT! I noted a decided lack of bundt cake recipes too! ESPECIALLY ones with coconut!!!

Hair! Hair! Hair! I think Dr. Shoal needs a new photo to show off his hair experiments!! Didn't you get some sort of AWARD for that hair, Doc?

How dare you post pictures of cake like that on your blog. Now I need cake, must have cake, do not know where to get that kind of cake.

And I have to admit that I color my own hair for $3 a bottle every four weeks. Dave Ramsey is proud but boy do I miss the beauty parlor.

Speedcat Hollydale said...

... there is CAKE ???

Chris said...

@ Speedy - you are LATE! I stopped saving your CAKE for you DAYS AGO! Better luck next time! hahahha ;)

@ ANNIE - WOW! The famous Annie Valentine stopped by! I feel honored. :) Welcome. I gave up the gym to pay for the salon visits. :) Not so sure about that choice, but my Golden Retriever LOVES it b/c I'm walking her more. :)

Lisa Smith said...

thanks for stopping by my place =)

when I get bad haircuts I usually find someone new haha but this last time I had to call and tell my gal that she needed to fix it because I really like her and wanted to come back when I needed color again. It worked and we're still friends. haha

Chris said...

Hi Lisa,

I'm doing Amber's study too. It was fun to visit with everyone else doing it today.

I don't have may options for hair stylists... but I really am fortunate to go to someone who is very talented. I think sometimes she just wants to make me more "hip" than I want to be. I have 3 kids. I am WAAAY past wanting to be hip. :) hehe I would actually like to GET RID of my hips. ;)

j said...

If you are going to throw around phrases like "ain't" you might as well say you got your "hair did".

Glad you liked it after you brushed it out. I NEED a haircut and I always wait too long between salon visits.

Chris said...

Hi Jennifer!

Like, "I've been a'meanin' to get my hair did?" ;)

I don't know what it is about those sounds that make me feel welcome!

:)

I wait too long between visits too. I really have no excuse, but I'm not used to someone doing a good job on my hair. This new person is such a FIND! :)

Speedcat Hollydale said...

Thanks Chris!

GO VIKES

It would be VERY cool for them to win it all!
