Vive la Différence

Okay, so I've been something of a hermit all summer because of those procedures I had done. As a reward, I finally had my hair done (and by that I mean, goodbye gray!) and now I feel better about myself. I've been trying so hard to start caring how I look. I know it's superficial, but a couple of years ago I woke up and realized just how far I'd let myself go. I even purposely used a very blurry pic on Facebook when I opened my account.

So, this summer, I went from this hair:

To THIS hair:

And I have to say it feels just great. The hair stylist tried to tell me that this is my natural color, but I don't know about that. :) I think she was being nice.

After going a DECADE cutting my hair myself and paying nothing for my hair except a $1 bottle of shampoo occasionally and some hairspray, I have a bit of sticker shock, but I figure it'll take a verrry long time to catch up dollar-wise and I should just enjoy it. ;) Besides, it's fun to be part of the "Hair Color Club." Let me assure you, IT EXISTS. More about that another time. :)

Very nice! I finally succumbed to having mine done professionally after doing my own hair for the past two years.

And I'm leaving town before the bill comes in.

HI! Yep, the bill isn't pleasant, is it?

I decided to not join the gym this year and color my hair instead. hehe I think it's a good plan. No gray makes me feel youthful and energetic and I walk more. :) That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You look fabulous. Of course, you looked fabulous before the hair color too.

I'm lucky. My niece is a stylist now. So the bill isn't as high.

Hi Summer!

Coming from the fashion queen, I take that as a high compliment... and very kind. :)

I am very jealous that you have a hair stylist in the family! That would be GREAT.

I love the color! Getting it done professional is expensive, but the outcome is always nice!

I can't believe you were cutting your hair in the first picture. It's a nice cut! Maybe you can cut other people's hair to raise money for your salon visits! :)

I think it looks great, Chris! And, yes, you should enjoy it. You're worth it. Hope you have a great weekend! :)

Weeeellll, Speedy, as long as you aren't the stylist! haha And I only drink 4% now!

Thank you, Daisy! I love getting it done. Hate the time commitment, but the result is worth it to me.

Hi Jan! :)

I think it would end up purple if I did it myself! :)

The first pic was actually after I started getting it cut professionally. It was taken this past March. My first haircut was in December. That sounds so funny! :)

I sold them all for a new arugula patch at the farm

Chris said...

OH NO! Those poor poor chickens. I just hope you didn't sell them to the Colonel!

I'm still a member of the "cut my own hair" club and spend the money on fabric instead. :>} You look lovely! How often do you have to go back to maintain the new look? Do we get to see a picture of the cut-it-yourself look, too?

As the hair color club president herself, I welcome you with open arms! It looks great!

Chris said...

Ah HA! I KNEW IT! There IS a club! And WOW! I found the PRESIDENT! This is just great! ;)

*(Note my brief and limited ability to speak in short sentences... I just spoke with a real live ADULT and had my "fix" for the afternoon!) ;)
